Melbourne was the epicenter of pride today as Australia became the newest country to approve gay marriage. With a 61% approval in a nationwide vote the public demanded equality and now Parliament will make it happen.
“They voted ‘yes’ for fairness, they voted ‘yes’ for commitment, they voted ‘yes’ for love. And now it is up to us here in the Parliament of Australia to get on with it,” said Australia Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull.
